  How do joint supplements work?

  Hip supplements are made up of glucosamine, which acts as a mild anti-inflammatory. They improve dog’s mobility by keeping joint fluid healthy to ease movement. They are particularly beneficial for dogs who suffer from arthritis, as they are safe to be used alongside pain relief medicine. Older dogs and working dogs also benefit from daily doses of glucosamine, as they often have more intensive wear and tear on their joints which has developed throughout their lives. 

  Are there any side effects associated with hip joint supplements? 

  There are no serious side effects associated with joint supplements, although some dogs may occasionally experience mild side effects such as constipation or diarrhoea. For most dogs, hip supplements are considered safe to give to dogs over a long period of time. 

  How long do hip supplements take to work in dogs?

  It can take 4-8 weeks to achieve maximum effects of joint supplements, but gradual improvements are usually noticeable withing a few days. We would recommend monitoring the effects on your dog’s mobility for at least a month before deciding whether the supplements are working.
